Week 5 Reflection: The Power of Optimism

Last week was the announcement of the scores I had collected while participating in the GIGIH Generation program. I feel disappointed and sad with the score I have got. I’m sure my score and position can go up, but I’m not sure I can go to the next level.

I feel proud of my peers who made it to the top of the board. I know they are potential participants who will continue to the next level since the first week. They are very curious, willing to help other peers, and do not hesitate during the showcase. I learned a lot from my peers, apart from teaching me to be active in class, they also taught me to support each other.

After I took the IDP class last week, I got enlightenment from my instructor that I have to emphasize to myself that my main goal is not to go to the next level, but the current level is one of the paths to my main goal. I also want to convey this to my peers who feel the same way I felt before, so that they will continue to be enthusiastic about following this level until the end.
